You’ll need:
Approx. 120 yards of Bernat Blanket yarn in colors Light Teal and Almond (Super Bulky, size 6 yarn);
Crochet hook 10 mm;
A smaller hook for weaving in the tails.
Stitches control: 9 sc sts= 6 inches
Instructions
Ch 4, sl st to the first ch to form a ch ring.
Round 1: Ch 1( not counted as a st), 8 sc into the ch ring. Do not sl st or turn.—8 sc
Round 2: 1 sc in the next sc, place a marker in this st to indicate the first st of the round, 1 more sc in the same st, 2 sc in each st across until you end in the st before the marked one, do not turn.—–16 sc
Round 3: 1 sc in the marked st, move the marker up into the st you just made, 1 more sc in the same st, *(1 sc in next, 2 sc in next st), repeat from * until you end with a sc in the st before the marked one, do not turn.—–24 sts
Round 4: 1 sc in the marked st, move the marker up into the st you just made, 1 more sc in the same st, *(1 sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st), repeat from * until you end with a sc in the st before the marked one, do not turn.—–32 sts
Round 5: 1 sc in the marked st, move the marker up into the st you just made, 1 more sc in the same st, *(1 sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st), repeat from * until you end with a sc in the st before the marked one, do not turn.—–40 sts
Round 6: 1 sc in the marked st, move the marker up into the st you just made, 1 more sc in the same st, *(1 sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st), repeat from * until you end with a sc in the st before the marked one, do not turn.—–48 sts
Round 7: 1 sc in the marked st, move the marker up into the st you just made, 1 more sc in the same st, *(1 sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st), repeat from * until you end with a sc in the st before the marked one, do not turn.—–56 sts
Round 8: 1 sc and 1 dc both into the marked st, move the marker up into the sc st, sk next st, *(1 sc and 1 dc in next st, sk next st), repeat from * until you skip the last st before the marked st.
Repeat the above round 8 more times. Your basket will be around 10 1/2 inches tall now.
Next Round: Sl st to the marked sc while picking up the second color, 1 sc in next 6 sts, (2 sc in next, 1 sc in next)three times, 1 sc in next, (2 sc in next, 1 sc in next)twice, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 6 sts, 16 sc2tog, sl st to 1st sc.
Last Round: Ch 1( not counted as a st, 1 sc in next 15 sts, ch 5 for loop, 1 sc in next 15 sts, 1 sc in each st to end, sl st to 1st sc, fasten off and weave in the ends.
