You’ll need:
Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver Yarn (worsted weight, acrylic) in Spring Green, Shocking Pink, Paddy Green, Cherry Red, Saffron colors;
Crochet hook 5 mm;
Polyester Fiberfill;
Yarn needle;
Stitch marker;
Scissors;
Black Felt (for eyes);
Fabri-tac glue.
Size: Approximately 5in/13cm tall
Instructions
Head and Body
1. For the HEAD, follow and complete the pattern for the OPEN MOUTH AMIGURUMI BASE first.
2. For the rest of the BODY, follow and complete the pattern for the BABY DINOSAUR pattern.
Wings
With green yarn or color of choice
Round 1: 6 sc into magic ring.
Round 2: 2 sc in each st around – 12 sc.
Round 3: [2 sc in next st, sc in next st] around – 18 sc.
Round 4: [2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 st] around – 24 sc.
Round 5-6: Sc in each st around – 24 sc.
Sew closed across both layers with 12 sc across.
Ch 2, turn, sc in first ch, sl st in next 6 st, ch 2, sc in ch, sl st in next 6 st.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail.
Rim
With dark green yarn or contrasting color yarn
On top of wing, sc across. (See photo tutorial below for reference)
Ch 1, turn, sl st across.
Leave long tail. Embroider a line down the middle of the wing span on front AND back.
Ears
With green yarn or color of choice
Round 1: 6 sc into magic ring. Sl st into first sc.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail.
Fire
Round 1: With red yarn, ch 20, sl st in next 3 st, sc in next 2 st, hdc in next 2 st, 2 dc in next st, hdc in next 2 st, sc in next 2 st, 2 hdc in next st, 2 dc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, sc in next 4 st.
Continue on the other side of chain.
Sc in next 4 st, 2 hdc in next st, 2 dc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, sc in next 2 st, hdc in next 2 st, 2 dc in next st, hdc in next 2 st, sc in next 2 st, sl st in next 3 st.
Round 2: Sl st in next 3 st.
Now with gold yarn, sc in next 5 st, (sc, ch 2, sc in previous ch, sc) in next st, sc in next 7 st, (sc, ch 2, sc in previous ch, sc) in next st, sc in next 6 st, (sc, ch 2, sc in previous ch, sc) in next st, sc in next 6 st, (sc, ch 2, sc in previous ch, sc) in next st, sc in next 7 st, (sc, ch 2, sc in preious ch) in next st, sc in next 4 st, sl st in next st.
Fasten off, leaving a tail.
Assembly
Sew Ears to Head.
Sew Wings to Back.
Cut and Hide all ends.
