Helping our users. Simple Crochet Hat.
You’ll need:
1 ball of Lion Brand Heartland: Pinnacles [136-178] yarn;
Crochet hook 6,5 mm;
Large-eye needle.
Instructions
Start by making the initial chain. This will be the height of your hat. If you want a slouchy hat, use 6.5 mm crochet hook and chain 40 sts.
Single crochet into the 2nd chain from the hook and then into each chain.
Chain 1, turn and then single crochet into each stitch.
Repeat crocheting rows until you're satisfied with the length.
Make 60 rows = about 45 cm. The number of rows you crochet will be the circumference of your hat, the best way to measure this was to tie some wool around your head and then use this as a guide.
Remember, your crochet will have some give in it so make sure to take this into consideration.
Fasten off the end of your wool. You should now have a rectangle made up of rows of single crochet, measured 32 cm by 45 cm.
To make your hat you need to make a simple tube and gather it at the top.
Thread some wool onto a yarn needle and whip stitch the side edges together to make a tube.
Sew in and out through the stitches at one end of the tube. Pull the wool to gather the top and tie it tightly.
To finish weave in the ends. You may need to sew the top to close the hole completely.
