​Beige Poncho with Square Motifs

You’ll need:

600g of beige Sportic yarn (70% polyacryl, 30% wool; 75m/50g);

Long circle knitting needles 6.

Size: one size.

Used Patterns

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls, in circle row – knit sts;

Wrong-side pattern: in RS row – purls, in WS row – knit sts, in circle row – purls;

Big pearled pattern: 1^st row: 1 knit st, 1 purl by turn;

2^nd and 4^th rows: due to the ornament;

3^rd row: 1 purl, 1 knit st by turn.

Repeat 1^st-4^th rows.

Cross pattern: 2 row of stockinette stitch, 2 rows of wrong-side pattern by turn.

Relief motif (18 sts wide): due to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows due to the ornament or as stated, yarn overs – as purls. Repeat 1^st-34^th rows x once.

Patterns order A (18 sts wide): 34 rows of big pearled pattern, 34 rows of relief motif, 34 rows of big pearled pattern, 34 rows of relief motif, 34 rows of cross pattern.

Patterns order B (18 sts wide): 34 rows of cross pattern, 34 rows of big pearled pattern, 34 rows of cross pattern, 34 rows of big pearled pattern, 34 rows of relief motif.

Patterns order c (18 sts wide): 34 rows of relief motif, 34 rows of cross pattern, 34 rows of relief motif, 34 rows of cross pattern and 34 rows of big pearled pattern.

Stitches control: 14 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Front/Back

Cast on 92 sts and knit in the following way: 1 selvage st, 18 sts of patterns order A, 18 sts of patterns order B, 18 sts of patterns order C, 18 sts of patterns order A, 18 sts of patterns order C, 1 selvage st. In 39,5 cm = 102 rows from the set-up row, bind off 36 sts from the left side for V-shaped neck-hole = 56 sts. In 65,5 cm = 170 rows from the set-up row, bind off all the sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams, cast on 154 sts along the neck-hole line and work with cross pattern, but at first, make 2 circle rows of wrong-side pattern and make 3 sts of front and back together as broaching in the center (slip knit2tog, 1 knit st, draw it through the slipped sts). At 4 cm height of the placket = 10 circle rows, bind off the rest 114 sts as knit sts.
