​Pineapple Pattern Cardigan

You’ll need:

250 (300)g of cream (color 14) Doppio Lana Grossa yarn (60% cotton, 40% polyamide; 130m/50g);

300 (350)g of beige (color 53) Divino Lana Grossa yarn (75% cotton, 25% viscose; 110m/50g);

Knitting needles 4;

Crochet hook 3,5.

Note: work with 2 threads of yarn (1 thread of each color).

Size: S (M).

Used Patterns

Garter stitch: all knit sts;

Wrong-side pattern: in RS rows – purls, in WS rows – knit sts;

Pineapple pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 14 + 1 + 1 chain st increase. Work due to the scheme. Make 1^st single crochet in the 2^nd chain st from the crochet hook in the 1^st row. Start with chain sts increase and sts before the first arrow, repeat the pattern between arrows, finish with sts after the second arrow. Make double crochets and single crochets in chain sts or sts of the previous row from the 5^th row due to the scheme. Make 1^st-13^th rows x once, repeat 6^th-13^th rows x 4 times = 45 rows, then, make 46^th -70^th rows x once. Decreases for arm-holes are stated on the scheme.

Stitches control: wrong-side: 22 sts x 29 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

1 pattern repeat x 9 rows of pineapple pattern, crochet hook 3,5 = 7,5 x 10 cm.

Back

Cast on 99 (107) sts. Make 1 cm = 3 rows of garter stitch for the placket, start with 1 WS row. Then, work with wrong-side pattern. In 47 cm = 136 rows from the placket, bind off 3 sts from both sides for arm-holes, then, 1 x 2 sts and 1 x 1 st in every 2^nd row = 87 (95) sts. In 17 (18) cm = 50 (52) rows from the beginning of arm-holes, bind off the central 29 sts for the neck-hole and finish both sides separately, bind off 1 x 3 sts and 1 x 2 sts in every 2^nd row for the neck-hole. In 2 cm = 6 rows from the beginning of neck-hole, bind off the rest 24 (28) sts from both sides for each shoulder.

Left Front

Make 57 chain sts + 1 chain st increase. Work with pineapple pattern, repeat the pattern x 3 times. In 47 cm = 49 rows from the beginning of work, make arm-hole due to the scheme from the right-side. After the 70^th row, the height of shoulder is reached for size S, so finish your work. For size M, make 2 more rows of single crochet at 12 cm from the right side (width of shoulder) and finish your work.

Right Front

Make in symmetry to the left front.

Sleeves

Cast on 46 (50) sts and make 1 cm = 3 rows of garter stitch, start with 1 WS row and work with wrong-side pattern. For sleeve chamfers, increase 1 st from both sides in the 9^th row from the placket, then, 10 x 1 st in every 10^th row = 68 (72) sts. In 41 cm = 118 rows from the placket, bind off 3 sts from both sides for the sleeve cap, then, 2 x 2 sts, 3 x 1 st, in every 2^nd row, 4 x 1 st in every 4^th row and 4 x 1 st, 2 x 2 sts and 1 x 3 sts in every 2^nd row. Bind off the rest 18 (22) sts.

Assembly

Make the seams. Fasten the neck-hole from back side with 1 row of single crochets. Fasten vertical edges of front with 3 rows of single crochets (= 17 single crochets for 10 cm). Sew up the sleeves.
