​The First Stitch for Beginners

This is the simplest crochet stitch pattern. It consists of ordinary single crochets.

Make the needed quantity of chain sts and make the 1^st single crochet in the 2^nd chain st from the crochet hook (= 1 chain st increase).

1^st row: 1 chain st increase, * 1 single crochet through one lobe of st*; repeat from * to *;

2^nd row: 1 chain st increase, * 1 single crochet through both lobes of st*; repeat from * to *.

Repeat 2^nd row all the time.
