​Rainbow Crochet Tunic

You’ll need:

100g of 100% cotton yarn of white and black colors (each) 125m/50g;

50g of the same yarn, but carroty, red, yellow, purple, blue and turquoise colors (each);

Crochet hook 4.

Size: S.

Used Patterns

Main pattern: double crochets in straight/reversed rows. Start each row with 3 chain sts increase instead of the 1^st double crochet and finish with 1 slip st in the 3^rd chain st increase of the previous row;

Stripes order A: * 1 row of knit sts with white yarn, 1 row of purls with black yarn, 1 row of purls with white yarn, 1 row of knit sts with black yarn*; repeat from * to *.

Zigzag: the quantity of sts is multipled 22. Work around due to the scheme. Double crochets of the previous circle rows are stated on the scheme with dots. Start each row with 3 or 1 chain sts increase instead of the 1^st double crochet or 1^st single crochet and sts before pattern repeat, repeat the pattern, finish with sts after pattern repeat with 1 slip st in the upper chain st increase.

Make 1^st-6^th rows once, then repeat 5^th and 6^th rows 4 times. Totally, 14 rows. Then, make 15^th-18^th rows once, make increase due to the scheme. Repeat 17^th and 18^th rows.

Stripes order B: * carroty yarn, turquoise yarn, black yarn, white yarn, blue yarn, red yarn, yellow yarn, white yarn, black yarn, purple yarn*; repeat from * to *.

Fringe of arches: the quantity of sts is multipled 3. Insert the crochet hook and make 1 chain st increase instead of the 1^st single crochet, * skip 2 chain sts of the previous row, making 5 chain sts instead, 1 single crochet*; repeat from * to *, finish with 5 chain sts and 1 slip st in the 1^st chain st.

Stitches Control

Main pattern: 18 sts x 11 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Zigzag: 22 sts x 10 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Yoke of Back

Make 61 chain sts + 3 chain sts increase with white yarn and work with the main pattern due to stripes order A.

Decrease 1 double crochet in the 2^nd, 3^rd, 4^th rows for the arm-holes: skip 1 double crochet of the previous row after chain st increase or before edging double crochets. Totally, 55 sts.

Leave unfinished the central 19 sts in 8 rows (7,5 cm) for the neck-hole. Decrease 1 st x 9 from each side in every row for smooth neck-hole.

Finish work after 18 rows (16,5 cm) on 9 sts of shoulder.

Yoke of Front

Make in the same way, as for back.

Skirt

Work from up to down. The direction of work is stated on the scheme with arrow. Fasten the upper detail of back with the main pattern, making 61 double crochets, alternating the colors: 1 row with yellow yarn, 1 row with black yarn. Increase 9 sts in every row, making 2 double crochets in 1 base st. Totally, 79 double crochets.

Fasten the upper detail of front in the same way.

Connect both yokes in one detail with 1 circle row of the main pattern with purple yarn, increasing 9 sts to each part. Circle your work in the ring, 1 slip st in the 3^rd chain st increase. Totally, 88 sts for each yoke, totally in the ring – 176 double crochets.

Then, make zigzag pattern with color order B, making 8 pattern repeats.

After 15 rows, there are 224 sts in work, 1 pattern repeat = 28 sts. Finish work after 60 rows (60 cm) of zigzag pattern. Fasten the bottom part with fringe of arches.

Assembly

Sew the shoulders. Fasten the neck-hole with yellow yarn, making 123 single crochets. After that, pattern of arches with red yarn.

Fasten the arm-holes with carroty yarn, making 75 single crochets for each. Then, fasten the edge with arches of turquoise yarn.
