  • 1 – 3 oz (85 g) Lily Sugar n Cream in Rose Pink or any other worsted weight cotton yarn approx 150 yd/ 138 m
  • 1 – 3 oz (85 g) Lily Sugar n Cream in White or any other worsted weight cotton yarn approx 150 yd/ 138 m


Spike Stitch Crochet Pattern

Abbreviations – US Terms
  • ch– chain
  • sp– spike stich (insert hook on the top of stitch from the row below.)
  • sc – single crochet stich
  • st– stitch

You can make a larger or smaller dishcloth or a blanket by using number for the chain. Turning chain counts as first stitch of the row. Change colors every 2 rows after the first row.

Approx. 8.5 in x 8.5 in (22 cm)


chain 37 in white

Row 1: sc in the 2nd chain from the hook and each chain across. Chain 1 and turn.

Change color to Rose

Row 2: In 2nd stitch, sp in each stitch across (sc in the top of the stitch from the row below). sc in last st. Chain 1 and turn.

Row 3: sc in the 2nd st and each chain across. Chain 1 and turn.

Change to white

Repeat Row 2-3 until you have 24 rows or a square. After the 1st row, change color after every two rows.

Cut and knot yarn. Weave in ends, using a tapestry needle.
