Crochet Summer Bracelet Tutorial

Finished Bracelet Size
A finished bracelet is 19cm long.
Materials Needed
- Cotton yarn. I used 425 m/100 g cotton yarn in the following colors: green, yellow, orange, brown, blue. You may use any leftover yarn as the consumption is minimal. Feel free to be creative and use different colors for the butterfly wings.
- A crochet hook, I used a 1.0 mm crochet hook.
- A sewing needle, matching sewing threads.
- A Button.
- A small amount of hollow fiber.
Abbreviations
- ch – chain
- sl st – slip stitch
- sc – single crochet
- hdc – half double crochet
- dc - double crochet
- inc – increase (2 sc in 1 st)
- dec – decrease (single crochet two stitches together)
- (...) x N times – repeat instructions in brackets N times
Butterfly Wing (Make 2)
Any suitable color
8 ch
1) starting from 3rd ch from hook: 2 hdc, 2 sc, 2 sl st, 1 ch, turn (6)
Work every following row into the back loops only.
2) 2 sl st, 2 sc, (2 hdc in 1 loop)х 2 times, 2 ch, turn (8)
3) 3 hdc, 3 sc, 2 sl st, 1 ch, turn (8)
4) 6 sl st, 6 ch, turn (12)
5) starting from 3rd ch from hook: 4 hdc, 4 sc, 2 sl st, 1 ch, turn (10)
6) 2 sl st, 4 sc, 2 hdc, (2 hdc in 1 loop)х 2 times, 2 ch, turn (12)
7) 2 hdc together, 5 hdc, 3 sc, 2 sl st, 1 ch, turn (11)
8) 2 sl st, 3 sc, 4 hdc, 2 hdc together, 2 ch, turn (10)
9) 2 hdc together, 1 hdc, 2 sc, 5 sl st (11)
Bind off, cut off any excess yarn.
Work sc around the wings with a contrasting color yarn from spot A to spot B.
Butterfly Body - Head
Crochet with brown color yarn.
1) 6 sc in a Magic Ring
2-8) 6 sc
9) Work into the front loops only: 6 inc (12)
10-11) 12 sc
Stuff the head lightly. Do not add any hollow fiber into the body.
Crochet the butterfly's antennae in the next round.
12) 7 ch, starting from 2nd ch from hook: 6 sl st, 1 sc, 2 dec, 1 sc, 7 ch, starting from 2nd ch from hook: 6 sl st, 1 sc, 2 dec, 1 sc (8)
Cut off, bind off. Hide the end of the yarn inside.
Sew the wings on. Hide the yarn ends inside the body.
Bracelet
Work with green color yarn.
4 ch
1) starting from 2nd ch from hook: 3 sc, 1 ch, turn (3)
2) 3 sc, 80 ch, in 9nd ch from hook: 1 sc (this is a button loop), (8 ch, skip 8 loops, 1 sc)х 8 times. Work the last sc into spot А.
Work sc around the part from spot A to spot B.
3) (work along the chain: 2 sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, 2 sc; crochet a leaf: 1 sc, 6 ch, from 2nd ch from hook: 1 sl st, 3 dc, 1 sc; work along the chain: 2 sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, 2 sc; 1 sc)х 4 times
Work along the button loop: 8 sl st;
Work along the other side of the bracelet:
Work along the chain: 2 sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, 2 sc; 1 sc; (work along the chain: 2 sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, 2 sc; crochet a leaf: 1 sc, 6 ch, from 2nd ch from hook: 1 sl st, 3 dc, 1 sc; work along the chain: 2 sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, 2 sc; 1 sc)х 3 times; work along the chain: 2 sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, 2 sc.
Fasten off, cut off. If you want to make your bracelet shorter/longer, then instead of 80 ch make 9ch or 18ch less/more.
Straighten and iron the part very gently.
Sew the butterfly onto the centre of the bracelet. Sew the flower next to each leaf.
Flower (Make 4)
Start with yellow color yarn.
1) 5 sc in a Magic Ring
Change the yarn to blue or other color of your choice
2) (in 1 loop: 3 ch, 2 dc, 3 ch, 1 sl st; 1 sl st in the next loop) х 5 times.
Fasten off.
Sew on a button. The bracelet is completed!
