Pattern Notes

  • Chains and finishing slip stitches are not included in the stitch count
  • The last numbers in brackets are the total number of stitches in the round
  • Stitches separated with a comma are to be made in separate spaces. eg. (sc, 2sc) would mean sc in first stitch then 2sc in next stitch
  • Change colour while completing the previous stitch.
  • Always start in same stitch as slip stitch
  • If you have trouble using the MR with fluffy yarn, try making a separate MR with acrylic yarn.

Face

Eyes

  • Attach the safety eyes between R1 & R2, either side of the MR

Nose

  • Use Yellow (C) yarn, and sew a nose over the MR

Cheeks

  • Use Pink (D) yarn, and sew cheeks under the eyes, on the edge of R2

Mouth

  • Use black thread to sew a mouth over R2, align with the inside edges of the eyes

Penguin (Back)

Round 1

  • Use Black (B) yarn
  • In a MR, ch x 2, dc x 10
  • sl st to first st & ch x 2
  • (10 sts)

Round 2

  • 2dc x 10
  • sl st to first st & ch x 1
  • (20 sts)

Round 3

  • (2sc, sc) 10 times
  • sl st to first st & ch x 2

Row 4

  • Sew center of bow to the left of the head

Finishing Touches

  • Run some Black (B) can under the stitches on R3 and R6 to tidy the edges
  • Use Yellow (C) yarn to add a hanging loop to the top of the penguin
