H hook
Scissors
Yarn needle

ch = chain
sk = skip
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
hdc = half double crochet
sl st = slip stitch

PATTERN
Chain 45

Row 1
Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 3 chains, * 1 dc in each of the next 5 ch, 1 sc in each of the next 5 sc, repeat from * across, ch 3, turn

Row 2
Skip first sc, dc in next 4 sc, 1 sc in each of the next 5 dc, 1 dc in each of the next sc. Continue across row following the previous row's stitches (if there is a DC you will SC and vice versa always working in the sets of 5 except for start) be sure to place 5th stitch in last section in previous rows start chain, ch 1, turn

Row 3
Skip first sc, sc in next 4 dc, 1 dc in each of the next 5 sc, 1 sc in each of the next dc. Continue across row following the previous row's stitches (if there is a DC you will SC and vice versa always working in the sets of 5 except for start) be sure to place 5th stitch in last section in previous rows start chain, ch 3, turn

Repeat Rows 2 and 3. (Don't cut yarn yet, move on to border directions)

BORDER (worked in rounds)
Round 1
Ch 3, Sc in side of sc stitch on blanket's edge, ch 3, sc in the side of the next sc row, repeat this for blankets side (edges). CORNER, sc in corner to turn, ch 3, skip 2 stitches, sc in next stitch, continue this pattern for bottom and top of blanket, Connect with sc and then sl st into first ch 3 space.

Round 2
Ch 2, 2 sc in ch 3 space, *hdc in sc of previous row, 3 sc in next ch 3 sp repeat from * around entire blanket.

Finish blanket by weaving in ends
