  • Susan Bates® Crochet Hook: 4mm [US G-6]
  • Yarn needle
Gauge: Widest part across 2 shells = 2½” (6 cm). CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
Bag measures 8” x 10” (20 x 25 cm)

Front and Back
(Alike)

Row 1 (Right Side): Ch 30; dc in 6th ch from hook, * skip 2 ch, 5 dc in next ch, skip 2 ch, dc in next ch, ch 1, skip next ch, dc in next ch; repeat from * across; turn.

Rows 2-16: Ch 4 (counts as dc and ch-1), skip first dc and next ch-1, dc in next dc, * skip 2 dc, 5 dc in next dc, skip 2 dc, dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next ch-1 **, dc in next dc; repeat from * to last 2 sts, end at **; skip next ch, dc in next ch; turn. Fasten off at end of Row 16.

Side Panel


Row 1 (Right Side): Ch 7; sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across; turn – 6 sc.

Row 2: Ch 3, skip first sc, dc in next 5 sc; turn.

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in 5 dc, sc in top of ch-3; turn.

Rows 4-58: Repeat Rows 2 and 3. Fasten off at end of Row 58.

Assembly


With wrong sides of panel and front together, join yarn in upper corner of front; ch 1, sc evenly through both layers down side edge, 3 sc in corner, sc across bottom edge, 3 sc in corner, and sc evenly up next edge. Fasten off.

Repeat for back. Weave in ends.

Handle
(Make 2)

Ch 30; sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across. Fasten off. Sew in place as shown.

Weave in ends.
