Level

Intermediate (need to know how to read a graph and do color work)

Materials

  • US G (4.00 mm) crochet hook
  • Worsted weight/ size #4 yarn
    • 10 colors
    • A: 2 oz/ 124 yds
    • B – J: less than 1.5 oz/ 93 yds of ea.
    • I used Brava Worsted by We Crochet for this
      • See Notes section for exact colors
  • Notions: scissors, measuring tape, yarn needle
  • Wooden dowel/ stick (more than 12” across)

Gauge

  • 19 sc x 21 rows = 4” (blocked)

Terms/ Stitches used

  • St: Stitch
  • Ch: Chain
  • RS: Right side
  • Sc: Single crochet

Notes

  • Begin with a ch 58 in color A, turn, and start in the 2nd ch from the hook. Each row begins with a “ch 1, turn” and all st counts are 57 sc.
  • This pattern is worked from the bottom up, row by row with a turn at the beginning of the rows.
  • The ch 1 at the beginning of the rows does not count as a stitch.
  • This pattern doesn’t require you to carry the yarn, unless you’d like to. I just used bobbins where necessary and changed colors on the last pull through of the sc.
  • Blocking is suggested for this pattern.
  • In the photos: Brava Worsted by We Crochet – color A is cream (BW in Custard), color B is brown (BW in Espresso), color C is orange (BW in Persimmon), color D is tan (BW in Brindle), color E is magenta (BW in Fairy Tale), color F is dark green (BW in Hunter), color G is light green (BW in Peapod), color H is yellow (BW in Canary), color I is white (BW in White), and color J is darker orange (BW in Paprika).

With color A, sew your wooden dowel or stick to your wall hanging (or sc into the last row across if you’d like).
