Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn: Beige – 1 oz, 50 yd, (30 g, 46 m); Yellow – 1 oz, 50 yd, (30 g, 46 m); Green – ½ oz, 25 yd (15 g, 23 m) (Sugar ‘n Cream – Ecru, Country Yellow, Sage Green)

Crochet Hook: Size I-9 (5.50 mm)

Gauge: 6 dc = 2″, 3 dc rows = 2″.

TO CHANGE COLORS

Work last stitch before color change to last step, with new color yo and pull new color through remaining loops on hook. Drop unused color to wrong side. Do not work over unused color.

JOINING WITH SC

When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

Special Stitches

Beginning Cluster (beg-cl): Ch 2, keeping last loop of each st on hook, 2 dc in same st or sp indicated, yo and pull through all loops on hook.

Cluster (cl): Keeping last loop of each st on hook, work 3 dc in st or sp indicated, yo and pull through all loops on hook.

Note: Working with 2 colors, to change colors, work with both colors on ch 1 st, then drop unused color to back and work stitches over it.

DISHCLOTH

Rnd 1: (Right Side) Starting at center, with Green, ch 3, 9 dc in 3rd ch from hook (skipped ch counts as first dc); join with sl st to first dc. (10 dc)

Rnd 2: Ch 4 (counts as first dc and ch 1), dc in same st as joining, ch 1, [(dc, ch 1, dc) in next dc, ch 1] around; join. (20 ch-1 sps) Finish off and weave in ends.

Rnd 3: With right side facing, join Yellow with sl st to any ch-1 sp, beg cl in same sp, [ch 1, cl in next ch-1 sp] 4 times, ch 2, * cl in next ch-1 sp, [ch 1, cl in next ch-1 sp] 4 times, ch 2; rep from * twice more; join with sl st to first cl. (20 cl, 16 ch-1 sps, 4 ch-2 sps)

Rnd 4: Sl st to ch-1 sp, beg cl in same sp, [ch 1, cl in next ch-1 sp] 3 times, change color to Beige, ch 1, with Beige (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in corner ch-2 sp, pick up Yellow, ch 1, * with Yellow, cl in next ch-1 sp, [ch 1, cl in next ch-1 sp] 3 times, change color to Beige, ch 1, with Beige (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in corner ch-2 sp, pick up Yellow, ch 1; rep from * twice more, join with sl st to first cl. (16 cl, 24 dc, 20 ch-1 sps, 4 ch-2 sps)

Rnd 5: With Yellow, sl st to ch-1 sp, beg cl in same sp , [ch 1, cl in next ch-1 sp] twice, change color to Beige, ch 1, with Beige, dc in next 3 dc, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in corner ch-2 sp, dc in next 3 dc, pick up Yellow, ch 1, * with Yellow, cl in next ch-1 sp, [ch 1, cl in next ch-1 sp] twice, change color to Beige, ch 1, with Beige, dc in next 3 dc, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in corner ch-2 sp, dc in next 3 dc, pick up Yellow, ch 1; rep from * twice more, join with sl st to first cl. Rnd 8: With Beige, ch 1, sc in same st as joining, sc in next ch-1 sp, [sc in next 12 dc, 3 dc in corner ch-2 sp, sc in next 12 dc, sc in next ch-1 sp, sc in next cl, sc in next ch-1 sp] 3 times, sc in next 12 dc, 3 dc in corner ch-2 sp, sc in next 12 dc, sc in next ch-1 sp; join with sl st to first sc. (120 sc)

Rnd 9: Ch 1, (sc, ch 2, dc) in same st as joining, skip next sc, [(sc, ch 2, dc) in next sc, skip next sc] around; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.
