Skill Level: Easy

Required Supplies:

RED HEART Super Saver: 1 skein each 726 Coral A, 505 Aruba Sea B, 668 Honeydew C, and 320 Cornmeal D

Susan Bates Crochet Hook: 5mm [H-8 US]

Yarn needle

Additional Supplies Needed:

0.71 gal. nursery container, 4¾” bottom diameter x 7” tall x 6½” top diameter (12 x 18 x 16.5 cm) (available at Home Depot)

Try some tapestry crochet color-work for a pot cover that looks great holding anything from a green plant to crochet hooks. Choose a closed or open bottom, depending on your end use.

Gauge/Tension: GAUGE: 14 sts = 4” (10 cm) in pattern; 16 rows = 4” (10 cm) in single crochet.

CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

Cozy measures 5 ¼” bottom diameter x 7 ¼” tall (13.5 x 18.5 cm)

Special Stitch

Bobble (worked over 2 sts) = yo, insert hook in indicated st, yo, pull up a loop, yo and draw through one loop, [yo, insert hook in same st, yo, pull up a loop, yo and draw through one loop] twice (7 loops on hook), insert hook in

next st, yo, pull up a loop, yo and pull through all 8 loops on hook, ch 1.

Notes

1. Cozy is worked in tapestry crochet in joined rounds with right side facing throughout.

2. Two colors are held together in all rounds except the last edging round. In rounds for which only one color is used, continue to carry color not in use under the working strand throughout.

3. To change color, work the last st to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete stitch. Proceed with new color, working over old color. Do not cut old yarn until instructed.

4. To create a cozy with an open bottom, refer to optional instructions.
