- Heather A, 2 skeins each of 9388 Wheat B and 4601 Off White C.
- Crochet Hook: 5.5mm [US I-9].
- Yarn needle.
GAUGE: On Row 1, 13 ch and sts = 3¼; first 2 rows = 1½ in pattern.
CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
SPECIAL ABBREVIATIONS:
V-st = (dc, ch 1, dc) worked in same space.
Shell = (hdc, 2 dc, hdc) worked in same space.
NOTE: Work in specified sts and spaces only, skipping over others. When changing color, always fasten off last color used and begin WS with new color.
LAPGHAN:
With B, ch 125.
Row 1 (WS): Working in back loops of ch only, dc in 5th ch from hook (creates first V-st), *ch 2, skip 5 ch, [(dc, ch 2) 3 times and dc] in next ch, ch 2, skip 5 ch, V-st in next ch; repeat from * across. Ch 4, turn (counts as first dc and ch-1 space of next row here and throughout).
Row 2: Dc in first ch-1 space, *skip next ch-2 space, shell in each of next 3 ch-2 spaces, skip next ch-2 space, V-st in next ch-1 space; repeat from * across. Ch 4, turn.
Row 3: Dc in first ch-1 space, *ch 2, [(dc, ch 2) 3 times and dc] in first dc of second (center) shell, ch 2, V-st in next ch-1 space; repeat from * across. Ch 4, turn.
Row 4: Repeat Row 2. Fasten off.
With C and WS facing, draw up a loop in first ch-1 space. Ch 4.
Rows 5-6: Repeat Rows 3 and 4. Fasten off.
Rows 7-8: With A, repeat Rows 3 and 4. Fasten off.
Rows 9-10: With C, Repeat Rows 3 and 4. Fasten off.
Rows 11-14: With B, repeat Rows 3 and 4 twice. Fasten off.
Rows 15-64: Repeat Rows 5-14 five more times.
Rows 65-66: With C, repeat Rows 3 and 4.
Edging: Work across top through both loops: With C and WS facing, ch 4 and dc in same ch; work Row 1 from * across, turn and work Row 2. At end of Row 2, do not fasten off. Ch 1 and work down left hand edge as follows: (sc, ch 2, sc) at end of each row to bottom, ending with ch 1, slip st in next dc. Fasten off. With WS facing, join C and rep Rows 1 and 2 across bottom edge, fasten off. Join C and work up opposite side as before. Fasten off.
Weave in ends. Block lightly.
