Crochet Daffodil Granny Square

Create a beautiful floral-inspired granny square by crocheting a daffodil design. Start by selecting your favorite yarn colors to represent the petals, center, and background of the daffodil. Begin with a magic ring and work your way around, following a pattern that incorporates different stitches to form the intricate details of the flower. Add dimension by using varying shades of yellow and orange for the petals, and a contrasting color for the center of the daffodil. Once you have completed the flower motif, continue crocheting around it to create the granny square shape, alternating colors to make the design pop.

Pattern notes

The pattern is written using UK terminology, for a conversion chart to US terminology.

The squares are worked in the round. You do not need to turn your work after each row and you continue working in the same direction as before.

[Stitches written in brackets like this are all worked into the same stitch.]

For the first stitch on each row: Chain 1 to move up to the next round if the round starts with double crochet. Chain 2 if the round starts with a half treble crochet, and chain 3 if the round starts with a treble crochet. These chains count as the first stitch in the row
