I have used King Cole Comfort Aran in candy pink, orchid and white for the crochet starlight baby blanket, but there are lots of other colours to choose from.

Pattern asks for a 6.00mm crochet hook, but you can use larger hooks and thicker yarn if you want to make the blanket larger.

Materials

For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-
160 grams of King Cole Comfort Aran yarn in colour 1
200 grams of King Cole Comfort Aran yarn in colour 2
150 grams of King Cole Comfort Aran yarn in colour 3

6.00mm crochet hook

UK INSTRUCTIONS:

Made in multiples of 3 + 1.

With colour 1 make 121ch, (RS) 1tr into 4th ch from hook, * miss 2ch, 3tr into next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 3ch, miss 2ch, work 2tr into last ch. Turn.

2nd Row – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn. Fasten off.

Join in colour 2.

3rd Row – 3ch, 1tr into the stitch at the base of the 3ch, * miss 2dc, 3tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc, miss 2dc, 2tr into last dc. Turn.

4th Row – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn. Fasten off.

Join in colour 3.

Rpt 3rd & 4th Rows.

Changing the colours 1, 2 & 3 every 2 rows, rpt 3rd & 4th Rows until work measures approx 33.5 inches.

With colour 1 rpt 3rd Row once. Fasten off.

Border – With WS facing, join in colour 2, make 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into each tr to 3tch, 3dc into top of 3ch, work dc evenly into row ends down first side of blanket, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along starting ch edge, 3dc into corner, work dc evenly into row ends up second side of blanket, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Working 3htr into each corner, start with 1ch, work 1htr into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1htr into each dc to end, ss to first htr on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn.
