Notes

For the gingham design, each square is 10 sts across and 6 rows long

Carry the colors for the alternating boxes along as you work. For example, when working up mauve and pink boxes, continue to crochet over the strand of pink while you are crocheting with the mauve.

Gingham

In color A, ch 41

Row 1: hdc in the second ch from the hook and in each ch across (40) *change to color B at the end of the last st

Row 2: ch 1, *hdc 6, in the sixth st change to color C, hdc 6, in the sixth st change to color A, repeat from * once (40)

Repeat Row 2 following the schematic below for a total of 72 rows

Finish off and weave in ends

For the border, hdc around the project in color A

In color C, ch 42

Row 1: dc in the third ch from the hook and in each ch acoss (40)

Row 2: ch 2, fpdc around the first st, bpdc around the second st, continue alternating fpdc and bpdc across (40)

Repeat the above pattern alternating Row 1 and Row 2 for a total of 34 rows. *change to color B at the end of Row 28

Finish off and weave in ends
