Materials
- 8 yards sport yarn
- Size E (3.5 mm) crochet hook
- Red pompoms
- 7-mm wiggle eyes
- Gold pipe cleaners
- Chain & earring hooks
Directions
Creating the Reindeer Head
Row 1: Ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hook and next 3 ch (4 sc).
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st.
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first st, sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in last st (6 sc).
Rows 4-6: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st.
Row 7: Ch 1, turn, sc across with 2 sc in last st. Working down side, 1 sc in each row end. Working in unused lps of Row 1, 2 sc in first lp, sc in next 2 lps, 2 sc in last lp. Working up the other side, 1 sc in each row end. Join with sl st. Do not fasten off.
Making the Ears
Ears: Ch 1, turn, sc in first 2 sc on side of head. Ch 1, turn, sc 2 tog. Fasten off.
Attach yarn on the other side of the head and sc in 2 sts. Ch 1, turn, sc 2 tog. Fasten off.
Finishing Touches
Cut 4″ pieces of gold pipe cleaner. Insert one on each side of the head and twist into desired shape.
Glue eyes and pompom nose to the front of the reindeer.
Add a chain of 1-2″ (or desired length) to the center top of the face. Attach the earring hook to the other end of the chain.
