Supplies:

Cotton Yarn (Orange, White, and Black)
Crochet hook (Size F-3.75MM)
Scissors
Needle
Plastic Easter Egg, normal size (I buy the ones from Walmart)
Gauge: 4.5 sts per inch. Adjust as needed to get your cozy to fit your egg.
Special Stitches:
Half Double Crochet Decrease (Hdc Dec) [YO. Insert hook in the stitch or space indicated. Pull up a loop] rep 2 times. YO. Pull through all five loop on your hook.

Cozy
Start with orange yarn.
Rnd 1: Sc 5 in magic ring OR Sc 2, Sc 5 in the 2nd chain from the hook
Rnd 2: Inc in each of the 5 sts (10 sts)
Rnd 3: [Inc in one st, Sc in the next] rep 5 times around (15 sts)
Rnd 4: Sc 15 (15 sts)
Rnd 5: [Inc, Sc in each of the next 2 stitches] rep 5 times (20 sts)
Rnd 6: Sc 20 (20 sts)
Switch to white yarn.
Rnd 7: [Inc, Sc 4] rep 4 times (24 sts)
Rnd 8: Sc 24 (24 sts)
Switch to orange yarn.
Rnds 9-10: Sc 24 (24 sts)
Switch to white yarn.
Rnd 11: [Dec, Sc 4] rep 4 times (20 sts)
Rnd 12: Sc 20 (20 sts)
Switch to orange yarn.
Rnd 13: [Hdc Dec, Hdc 8] rep 2 times (18 sts)
Rnd 14: Sc 18 (18 sts)
Check to make sure your egg fits inside the cozy, then finish off and weave in ends.

Tail
Start with orange yarn. Make 2.
Rnd 1: Sc 6 in magic ring OR Sc 2, Sc 6 in the 2nd chain from the hook
Rnd 2: [Inc in the first st, Sc in the next] rep 3 times around (9sts)
Rnd 3: 3 hdc in the first st. Sc in the next 2 sts. Switch to white yarn. Inc in each of the next 4 sts. Switch back to orange yarn. Sc in the next 2 sts.
Finish off. Weave in ends. Sew the two tail pieces to opposite sides of the opening at the bottom of the cozy, right sides facing out and white tips farthest from the cozy. Use the picture as a guide.

Side Fins
Start with orange yarn. Make 2.
Rnd 1: Sc 6 in magic ring OR Sc 2, Sc 6 in the 2nd chain from the hook
Rnd 2: 3 sc in the first st. Sc in the next st. Switch to white yarn. Hdc Inc in each of the next 3 sts. Switch back to orange yarn. Sc in the next st.
Finish off. Weave in ends. Sew the two fins to opposite sides of the fish, right sides facing out and white tips pointed back. Use the picture as a guide.

Top Fins
Use orange yarn.
Row 1: Ch 8
Row 2: Starting in the 2nd ch from hook: Hdc, Sl st, Hdc, Sl st, Hdc, Sl St, Hdc
Finish off. Weave in ends. Sew to the top of the fish.

Eyespots
Use orange yarn. Make 2.
Rnd 1: Sc 6 in magic ring OR Sc 2, Sc 6 in the 2nd chain from the hook
Finish off, weave in ends. Use black yarn to make a pupil in the center of each eyespot. Sew the eyes to either side of the fish.
