Crochet Small Rainbow

I used cotton thread and a No 4 hook.
My pattern uses UK crochet terms so if you’re in the USA you need to use single crochet.
Round 1 – Turquoise – Make a magic circle and crochet 6 DC
Round 2 – Purple – Attach new thread, chain 1. Make 1 DC into the next stitch, then 2 x DC into the next four stitches, slip stitch into last stitch of previous round
Round 3 – Green – Attach new thread, chain 1. Make 2 DC into the next stitch followed by 1 DC into the next 2 stitches, repeat sequence 2 DC then 1 DC, 1 DC then slip stitch into last stitch of previous round
Round 4 – Pink – Attach new thread, chain 1. Make 1 DC into the next stitch followed by 2 DC into the next stitch, make 1 DC into the next 3 stitches, continue 2 DC then 1 DC, 1 DC then slip stitch into last stitch of previous round
Round 5 – Yellow – Attach new thread, chain 1. Make 1 DC into the next stitch followed by 2 DC into the next stitch, make 1 DC into the next 3 stitches, continue 2 DC then 1 DC, 1 DC, 1 DC then slip stitch into last stitch of previous round
Round 5 – Red – Attach new thread, chain 1. Make 1 DC into the next stitch followed by 2 DC into the next stitch, make 1 DC into the next 4 stitches, continue 2 DC then 1 DC, 1 DC, 1 DC, 1 DC then slip stitch into last stitch of previous round. Pull your yarn through the final stitch to finish off
Sew in your loose ends and voila…. you have a rainbow
I catch my loose ends in as I make each row and carefully cut them so my rows look neat on both sides
I’ll be attaching brooch pins and keyrings to the back of my rainbows so that I can send them to friends to help them smile during these uncertain times. They’ll also look great attached to cards for any occasion or made into decorations to hang up.
