Materials

25g – 30g of DK yarn
2 buttons (12mm approx.)
2 ribbon roses (or embellishments of your choice)

Note:
I like my baby booties to have a thicker sole so I make two of the sole sections and then work them together in Round 4. If you prefer to have a thinner, single sole, work Round 4 in back loops only.

Quick & Easy Crochet Baby Booties Pattern

Sole

Round 1 Chain 11, Work 1 Hdc in 3rd chain from hook, Hdc in next 7 sts, 6 Hdc in last (turning) stitch. Now working down opposite side, Hdc in next 7 sts, 5 Hdc in last st, slip stitch to join. (26)

Round 2 Ch1, Hdc in next 9 st, 2 Hdc in next 6 sts, Hdc in next 9 sts, 2 Hdc in next 2 sts, slip stitch to join. (34)

Round 3 Ch 1, 2Hdc in 1st stitch, Hdc in next 8 sts, *2 Hdc in 1st, 1 Hdc in next* repeat from * to * x6, Hdc in next 9 sts, *2 Hdc in 1st, 1 Hdc in next** repeat from * to * x2, slip stitch to join. (43)

Round 4 Working in Back loops only If you are working with two sections of sole work in the back loop of the closest sole and through both loops of the second. (See photo) One round of sc, slip stitch to join. (43).

Note: If you would like to change colour here, fasten off with colour A and start upper with colour B

Rounds 5 – 7 Ch1 then complete 1 round of sc, slip stitch to join. (43)

Left foot only

Round 10 (In back loops only) slip stitch in 8 sts, slst into both loops of next stitch, ch 12, dc in 3rd loop from hook, ch 1, skip next ch (button hole made), dc in next 8 chs, slst in next 21 sc. (30slst, 9dc) Fasten off.

Right foot only

Round 10 (In back loops only) slip stitch in 20 sts, slst into both loops of next stitch, ch 12, dc in 3rd loop from hook, ch 1, skip next ch (button hole made), dc in next 8 chs, skip one stitch, slst into back loops of next 9 sc. (30slst, 9dc) Fasten off.

Round 11 With sole of shoe facing away from you attach yarn at heel, using same colour as sole, attach yarn to unworked front loops from Round 4. Work one round of reverse sc. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Finishing

Sew on buttons.
Sew on Ribbons or Bows. (Or other embellishments as desired.)
