Craft Supplies:

  • 1 Ball cotton yarn*
  • Crochet Hook, size G
  • Yarn needle

* Our sample was made with Peaches and Creme.

Finished size is approximately 7" square.

Instructions:

  • Chain 25
  • 1 sc in 2nd ch form hook and in each remaining ch; ch1 turn
  • Sc through both loops of each sc now and throughout; ch 1 turn Repeat until dishcloth measures approximately 6 1/2". On last row ch 4 and turn.
  • Sk 1 sc; slst in next sc. Repeat from * to end of row.
  • You will now turn your work so that you are stitching along the side. *ch 4 sk one space; slst in next space. Repeat from * to next corner
  • Turn work so you are working on the other end (where you first started) *ch 4; sk1 ch; slst in next ch. Repeat from * to end of row.
  • Turn work so you are working along the last side. *ch 4; skip on space and slst in next space. Repeat from * to corner
  • Join with a slst to the base of your first ch4. Fasten off and weave loose ends back into your work.

If the border is done correctly, you will have 12 ch 4s on each side of the washcloth.
