Crochet Summer Hat for Young Lady
You’ll need:
200g of 100% cotton thick yarn of white color;
Crochet hook 4.
Size: 7-9 years.
Instructions
Irish Rose
Make the ring and 1 single crochet in it (see the picture below).
1st row: 1 chain st increase, 17 single crochets, 1 slip st. Finish all the rows with slip st;
2nd row: * 1 single crochet, 3 chain sts, skip 2 base sts*; repeat from * to * x 5 times;
3rd row: 1 single crochet above every arch of chain sts of the lower row, 5 double crochets through back half-loop and 1 single crochet;
4th row: turn down the petals of lower row and make 1 single crochet and 5 chain sts between 2 single crochets, which divide the petals of the previous row. Continue this way to the end of row;
5th row: 1 single crochet in every arch of chain sts, 7 double crochets through back half-loop, 1 single crochet;
6th row: turn down the petals of lower row and make 1 single crochet and 7 chain sts between 2 single crochets, which divide the petals of the previous row. Continue this way to the end of row;
7th row: 1 single crochet, 9 double crochets through back half-loops, 1 single crochet in every arch of chain sts from the lower row.
Leaf
Make 10 chain sts.
1st row: 3 chain sts increase, 5 double crochets through back half-loop, 2 half crochets, 1 single crochet, 3 single crochets in the last st. Turn your work, (1 single crochet, 2 half-crochets, 6 double crochets through back half-loop) in the same chain.
Hat
1st row: make 6 chain sts and circle them in a ring by means of 1 slip st. Circle all the following rows with slip st;
2nd row: 1 chain st increase, 11 single crochets;
3rd row: 3 chain sts increase, 23 double crochets through back half-loop (2 sts in 1 base st);
4th row: 3 chain sts increase, add 12 sts (= 36 sts in a row);
5th row: add 30 double crochets through back half-loop (= 66 sts);
6th-8th rows: increase 10 sts (in the end of 8th row you should get 96 sts);
9th row: single crochets without increases, catch only back thread of lower row loop.
10th-14th rows: double crochets through back half-loop;
15th-24th rows: single crochets, increase 6 sts in the 24th row;
25th row: relief crochets;
26th-29th rows: double crochets through back half-loop, increase 10 sts in every row (142 sts in 29th row);
30th-31st row: double crochets through back half-loop, increase 1 st x 20 in every row;
32nd row: double crochets through back half-loop, increase 30 sts (totally, 212 sts).
Sew the flap of hat, as it’s shown in the picture. Sew the rose and leaf to the front part of hat.
