Crochet Cupcake Bag
This bag is worked in the round. Do not join your rounds with a sl st. Instead work the first stitch of every round into the first stitch of the previous round.
Ch 2. Sc x 6 into 2nd ch from hook (6).
Sc x 2 in each st around (12)
*Sc inc, sc in next st* rep til end (18)
*Sc inc, sc in next 2 st’s* rep til end (24)
In blo: Sc in each st around (24)
*Sc inc, sc in next 5 st’s* rep til end (28)
Sc in each st around (28)
*Sc inc, sc in next 6 st’s* rep til end (32)
Sc in each st around (32)
*Sc inc, sc in next 7 st’s* rep til end (36)
Sc in each st around (36)
*Sc inc, sc in next 8 st’s* rep til end (40)
Sc in each st around (40)
*Sc inc, sc in next 9 st’s* rep til end (44)
In frosting colour: Sc in each st around (44)
In flo: Sl st in the 1st st. *skip one, 6 dc in next st, skip one, sl st in next st* rep until end (11 scollops). Ch1
In blo of round 15: Sc in each st around. At the end of your round, continue on by working the first st of the next round into the first st of this round.
Sc in every st around for 12 more rounds.
30. *ch 2, skip 2, sc in the next 2 st’s* rep til end to form the lace work for the drawstring.
Drawstring
Ch 70 and bind off, leaving a long tail on both ends of the chain.
Assembly
Starting from the inside, feed the drawstring through 7 holes. The drawstring should now be hanging outside the bag. Thread a large bead onto the drawstring (pref red) followed by a small bead. Thread the drawstring back through the large bead, trapping the small bead in the loop that forms.
Thread the drawstring through the next 7 holes. You should now have both tails hanging inside the bag. Knot the tails securely and work away.
