Pink and blue baby blanket

Jul 18, 2021 09:56 PM

Hello!

Yesterday, I finished baby blanket for my friend's baby. I love the combination of pink and blue so much!

Pink and blue baby blanket

It's so fluffy and tender. Don't you think, that it's too big?

No.  I really like it.  Looking for the pattern so I can make one.

If it is too big for a newborn, it will be perfect for an older baby or a toddler. I cant tell by picture. I do know that it is beautiful and that I love the colors.

Thank you very much

The pattern is below:

Materials needed:

1 skein of Bernat Baby Blanket in colors Overcast, Coral Blossom, and Vanilla (each);

Crochet hooks N (10 mm) and K (6,5 mm).

Size: 32 inches wide and 41 inches long.

Stitches control: 6 sts x 2 rows = 4 x 4 inches.

Stitch Stitches

Herringbone Half Double Crochet(hhdc): YO, insert your hook into the next st, pull up a loop through the st and the first loop on your hook, 2 loops left on your hook, YO and pull through the remaining 2 loops on your hook. A video tutorial for this stitch is included at the end of the blog post.

Instructions

With color Coral Blossom and the 10mm hook, ch 53. You can chain any odd number of chains to start if you wish to make your blanket wider than 32 inches. Please note that you will need more yarn to make your blanket bigger.

Row 1: 1 hhdc in 3rd ch from hook and each ch across. Turn.——–51 hhdc

Rows 2: Ch 2 ( counts as a hhdc here and throughout), 1 hhdc in next st and each st across to end. Turn.——–51 hhdc

Note: For the fake bobble rows, the turning ch 1 does not count as a sc throughout the pattern.

Row 3: Ch 2 ( counts as a hhdc here and throughout), 1 hhdc in next st and each st across to last st, 1hhdc in last st while joining the cream color. Ch 1 and turn. Fasten off the Coral yarn.——–51 hhdc

Note: In the next Row the fake bobbles will form at the back of your work.

Row 4(Bobble Row): 1 sc in the same st as ch 1, *(1 tr in next st, 1 sc in next), repeat from * across and end with a sc on top of turning ch-2 while joining the Blue yarn, fasten off the cream color yarn. Turn.——51 sts

Blue Stripe

Row 5, 6 & 7: With the blue color joined, ch 2, 1 hhdc in next st and each st across to end. Turn.——–51 hhdc

Row 8: Ch 2 ( counts as a hhdc here and throughout), 1 hhdc in next st and each st across to last st, 1hhdc in last st while joining the cream color. Ch 1 and turn. Fasten off the Blue yarn.——–51 hhdc

Note: In the following Row, you will have to fold the tr stitches to the front and then work your sc to make the bobbles visible on the right side of your blanket. Alternatively, you can let the bobbles form at the back and then pull them to the front with your fingers.

Row 9(Bobble Row): 1 sc in the same st as ch 1, *(1 tr in next st, 1 sc in next), repeat from * across and end with a sc on top of turning ch-2 while joining the Coral yarn, fasten off the cream color yarn. Turn.——51 sts

Coral Stripe

Row 10, 11 & 12: With the Coral color joined, ch 2, 1 hhdc in next st and each st across to end. Turn.——–51 hhdc

Row 13: Ch 2 ( counts as a hhdc here and throughout), 1 hhdc in next st and each st across to last st, 1hhdc in last st while joining the cream color. Ch 1 and turn. Fasten off the Coral yarn.——–51 hhdc

Note: In the next Row the fake bobbles will form at the back of your work.

Row 14 (Bobble Row): 1 sc in the same st as ch 1, *(1 tr in next st, 1 sc in next), repeat from * across and end with a sc on top of turning ch-2 while joining the Blue yarn, fasten off the cream color yarn. Turn.——51 sts

Repeat Rows 5-14 for the pattern until you complete 11 stripes and end in a Coral stripe. For the last Coral stripe, work only 3 hhdc rows. Fasten off.

Finishing

Using the K(6.5mm) hook, weave in all the tails left.
