First baby blanket

Hello, everyone!
I'm going to make my first crochet baby blanket for my friend's baby daughter.
What yarn do you suggest me to use?
They don't like pink color, so what color should I use?
Beige or ivory?
Or maybe green or yellow?
Please, help me.
Use a canon cake verigated yarn.it is soft and the colors are so pretty in a blanket.

Have have you gone and looking the bedroom where the baby is going to be for the blanket to be made and see what color they have in there and pick something up color and you can mix it with a wider base or eggshell something of the nature something very natural it doesn't have to be pink to be a babies blanket or a quilt or whatever you use real pale colors
