Easter Bunny-Egg

Mar 27, 2021 10:42 PM

Hello!

As many of you asked me for the pattern for crochet bunny-egg, here is it.

I use 100% acryl yarn and crochet hook 3. You will need 2 colors of yarn (A and B).

Instructions for Egg

It is worked top-down in a continuous spiral.

Make a magic loop from yarn A.

1st row: sc 4 into the magic loop (4)

2nd row: [inc] 4x (8)

3rd row: [sc 1, inc] 4x (12)

4th row: sc 1, inc, [sc 2, inc] 3x, sc 1 (16)

5th row: [sc 3, inc] 4x (20)

6th row: sc 2, inc, [sc 4, inc] 3x, sc 2 (24)

7th row: sc 5, inc] 4x (28)

8th row: sc 3, inc, [sc 6, inc] 3x, sc 3 (32)

9th row: [sc 7, inc] 4x (36)

10th-14th rows: sc 36 (5 rnds);

15th row: Change to yarn B, sc 36

16th-18th rows: sc 36 (3 rnds)

Place the eyes between rnds 16 and 17. The distance between one eye to the other is 9 sts. Stuff the body as you go.

19th row: sc 2, dec, [sc 4, dec] 5x, sc 2 (30)

20th row: [dec, sc 3] 6x (24)

21st row: sc 1, dec, [sc 2, dec] 5x, sc 1 (18)

22nd row: [dec, sc 1] 6x (12)

23rd row: [dec] 6x (6)

Break the yarn and close the remaining 6 stitches.

Ears

Make 2.

Using yarn B, ch 8. Starting in the 2nd chain from hook, work the following stitches along the chain:
1st row: sc 2, hdc 2, dc 2, then °dc 3 + tr 3 + dc 3° into the last st. Now work into the remaining loops along the other side of the foundation chain: dc 2, hdc 2, sc 2, ch 1 (22)

2nd row: sl st 22

Break the yarn with a long rest to sew the ears onto the body, approx. at height of the 3rd row.

With pink yarn embroider little cheeks underneath the eyes.

Love your egg pattern though I’m having a hard time understanding what the [inc] 4  8 and so on means

I’m fairly new at this

Thank you
