Beginner Poncho Knitting Pattern

Introduction
Here is the pattern of a very simple poncho for the very beginners:
Starting the Poncho
Start knitting from the bottom edge. We need quite long circular knitting needles. We gain 378 stitches. It is better to start with a bright color of the yarn. We make a ring and then the work will go in a circle. In the middle of the back and front will correspond to 95 and 189 stitches. They should be noted in order to focus on them when performing a decrease. Thus, these loops will be the lowest part of the poncho, its corners.
Decreasing Stitches
We begin to decrease from 2 stitches through a row. This is done as follows: 1 stitch is slipped, 2 knit stitches together, then stretch through the already slipped.
Adding Color
Rotate stripes of different colors to make our poncho more interesting. Many women prefer a poncho without a collar. Knit the last rows (7-8 rows) without decrease and close the stitches. In the figure, the arrow indicates the direction of knitting.
