Fast Track Head Wrap Crochet Ear Warmer
Pattern written in US crochet terminology
Supplies:
Lion Brand’s Vanna’s Choice Dark Grey Heather 35 yds / .75 oz (Color A)
Lion Brand’s Vanna’s Choice Dusty Rose 30 yds / .6 oz (Color B)
Size J (6 mm) crochet hook
Stitch marker
Tapestry needle
Scissors

Embroidery thread (for sewing on button)
Approximate finished size: approximately 7 1/2” wide x 4” tall

Abbreviations:
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
ribhdc = faux knit hdc (see special stitches below)
sl st = slip stitch
Notes about pattern:
Pattern is worked in one piece in the round from a chain. Round 1 is worked across chain and then remaining stitches are worked in the unused bottom loop of the round.
No need to cut yarn when switching to a new color — just drop and pick back up when needed. Color changes will be invisible on the back so no need to cut and weave in ends every round.
Button is sewn on through both ends of the ear warmer. If removability is desired, a button hole would need to be added to piece. If adding button hole, I would recommend adding at round 2 or 3 by chaining a multiple of chains and skipping stitches at one end of the ear warmer in the single crochet area.
To resize ear warmer you can go up a hook size or you can add chains to the beginning chain count. If you add 10 ch to beginning ch — add 10 hdc st to both sides of ear warmer and work the rest of the pattern the same.
Special stitches:
ribhdc = The ribhdc is worked the same as a regular hdc just in a different loop than a regular hdc. In order to achieve the knit look in hdc, the hdc stitch is worked in the third loop behind and below the two loops that are generally used for a stitch.
Round 1: (With Color A) ch 60, sc in 2nd ch from hook (place stitch marker in this stitch and move up each round), sc in next 4 ch, hdc next 49 ch, sc next 4 ch, 3 sc in last ch, (now working in unused chain loops), sc in next 4 ch, hdc next 49, sc next 4, 2 sc in last loop, (Switch to Color B) sl st to top of 1st st. (120)
Round 2: (With Color B) ch 1, sc in same st, sc next 4 st, ribhdc next 49, sc next 5, 3 sc in next st, sc next 5, ribhdc next 49, sc next 5, 3 sc in last st, (Switch to color A) sl st top of 1st st. (124)
Round 3: (With Color A) ch 1, 2 sc in same st, sc next 4 st, ribhdc next 49, sc next 6, 3 sc next st, sc next 6, ribhdc next 49, sc next 7, 2 sc in last st, (Switch to Color B) sl st top of 1st st. (128)
Round 4: (With Color B) ch 1, 2 sc in same st, sc next 5, ribhdc next 49, sc next 7, 3 sc next st, sc next 7 st, ribhdc next 49, sc next 7, 2 sc next st, 1 sc in last st, (Switch to Color A) sl st top of 1st st. (132)
Round 5: (With Color A) ch 1, sc in same st, sc next 6 st, ribhdc next 49, sc next 17 st, ribhdc next 49 st, sc next 10 st, (Switch to Color B), sl st top of 1st st. (132)
Round 6: With Color B Repeat round 5
Fasten off.
Weave in ends.
Sew on button through both ends of the ear warmer at desired location. Mine was sewn at approximately 1” from end of ear warmer.

I'd prefer it without a button

The pattern is not bad, but I'd wear it backwards
