​Crochet Cardigan with Square Motifs

You’ll need:

250g of grey yarn (70% alpaca wool, 30% polyamide; 225m/50g);

150g of the same yarn, but in pink color;

100g of the same yarn, but in light-grey color;

50g of the same yarn, but in berry color;

Crochet hook 5.

Size: M.

Used Patterns

Square: make a magic ring, 1 chain st, 6 single crochets in the ring and circle the row with 1 slip st. Continue work due to the scheme with circle rows. Start every circle row with 3 chain sts increase and finish with 1 slip st in the last chain st increase. Make 1st-5th rows x once.

Colors order 1: 1st and 2nd circle rows – light-grey, 3rd circle row – berry, 4th circle row – pink, 5th circle row – grey.

Colors order 2: 1st and 2nd circle rows – light-grey, 3rd circle row – pink, 4th circle row – light-grey, 5th circle row – grey.

Colors order 3: 1st and 2nd circle rows – pink, 3rd circle row – light-grey, 4th circle row – berry, 5th circle row – grey.

Colors order 4: 1st and 2nd circle rows – grey, 3rd circle row – pink, 4th circle row – light-grey, 5th circle row – grey.

Colors order 5: 1st and 2nd circle rows – berry, 3rd circle row – pink, 4th circle row – light-grey, 5th circle row – grey.

Colors order 6: 1st and 2nd circle rows – pink, 3rd circle row – grey, 4th circle row – pink, 5th circle row – grey.

Stitches control: square = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Make 19 squares due to each color order (= 114 squares) and sew them, matching with pattern design.

Assembly

For plackets, fasten lower edges of sleeves with grey yarn, for this fasten the yarn at outer corner of square with the help of 1 slip st at arrow A and continue work due to the scheme.

Make 1st-8th rows x once, then, repeat 7th-8th rows, make 6 x 2 double crochets together in the 1st circle row, make 4 x 2 double crochets together in the 4th row. Finish your work at 13 rows width of plackets. Make side and sleeve seams. Fasten lower edge of jacket, front and neck-hole with grey yarn in the following way: 1st rnd: as the 1st row of green signs on the scheme;

2nd rnd: slip sts.

Circle the rounds with 1 slip st.
