Tired of same stitch over and over

Hi everyone! I have been crocheting for about 2 years now. I have found that I get bored with big projects that I start if they have a repeat of stitch for rows and rows. I end up putting the project down and not going back to it for weeks or sometimes months. I have a couple that have been sitting in the bottom of my basket for over 6 months because I just can't get past the "boredom" of doing the same stitch. Help 🆘 any tips on how to get past it and actually finish a project?

change the stitch.  Nothing wrong with adding a different stitch to make it stand out.

Thank you for that idea!!! I'm such a rule follower lol I didn't even think about that. And then it would really be a one of a kind piece 😃

Do it while doing something else. Like talking to friends or watching TV.

I just recently started getting to where I can watch TV and crochet without really looking at my work and being able to keep count! Plus all the good Hallmark christmas movies are on right now so I'll definitely be able to keep working. Thanks so much for that!!

Hi Rebecca,

The project that is 6 months old go back to it. Encourage yourself by saying, «the project is worth completing.» Once it's completed you'll feel much better. Try different size projects instead of always choosing large ones.

I totally agree with you!!!I I’ve been working on a lap blanket for my  godmother and I just get so bored with it but after reading what you said, I I’m definitely going to try and finish it asap. I’m so glad I saw your response to the post. Have a great day!!!!

You can make simple and fast things: hats, blankets etc, not to get bored with one and the same pattern
