​Multi-Colored Crochet Poncho

You’ll need:

4 (4) 5 skeins of light-grey 100% wool yarn (70m/50g);

1 (1) 2 skeins of the same yarn, but in blue color;

1 (1) 2 skeins of the same yarn, but in plum color;

1 (1) 2 skeins of the same yarn, but in green color;

1 (1) 2 skeins of the same yarn, but in white color;

1 (1) 2 skeins of the same yarn, but in light-blue color;

1 (1) 2 skeins of the same yarn, but in pink color;

1 (1) 2 skeins of the same yarn, but in cherry color;

Crochet hook 5.

Size: S (М) L/XL.

Used Patterns

Stripes order: start every circle row with new color yarn (cut the yarn when changing colors): * 1 light-grey row, 1 blue row, 1 plum row, 1 white row, 1 light-blue row, 1 pink row, 1 light-grey row, 1 green row, 1 cherry row, 1 light-grey row*; repeat from * to *.

Stitches control: 5 x 2 double crochets + 4 chain sts x 6 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Make 72 chain sts with light-grey yarn and crochet hook 5 and circle it in the ring with slip st. Crochet around:

1^st row: 2 chain sts, 1 double crochet in the same st, ** *1 chain st, skip 2 chain sts, 2 double crochets in the next chain st *; repeat from * to * x 5 times. Make 1 chain st, skip 2 chain sts, (2 double crochets, 3 chain sts, 2 double crochets) in the next chain st (= the 1^st shoulder)**. Repeat from ** to ** x twice (make 2 x 2 double crochets + 3 chain sts the 2^nd time = the center of front, 3^rd time – 2^nd shoulder). Make from * to * x once and finish with 1 chain st and 2 double crochets in the 1^st st of the circle row (the same st as 2 chain sts + 1 double crochet). Circle the row with 3 chain sts and slip st to the 2^nd chain st in the beginning of row. Cuttheyarn;

2^nd row: join the new color yarn to the 1^st chain st behind the last 3 chains sts of the previous row. Make 2 chain sts and make 1 double crochet in the same st. Continue work, make 2 double crochets behind every chain st of the previous row and 1 chain st between 2 double crochets. Make (2 double crochets, 3 chain sts, 2 double crochets) behind the next 3 x 3 chain sts. Make 2 double crochets behind the last 3 chain sts. Circle the row with 3 chain sts and 1 slip st to the 2^nd chain st in the beginning of row. Cut the yarn.

Repeat the 2^nd row x 5 (6) 7 times.

After that, skip 2 double crochets and 3 chain sts on shoulder and make 2 double crochets from both sides of work around and only 2 double crochets in the middle of front and back. Repeat the stripes in the previously mentioned order until there are 30 circle rows made (the last row – with cherry yarn). Finish with 2 rows with light-grey yarn.

Collar (Optional)

Join the light-grey yarn at back at 2 chain sts of the set-up row.

1^st row: 2 chain sts and 1 double crochet in the same st. Continue crocheting around, making 1 chain st between and 2 double crochets behind 2 chain sts of the set-up row. Finish the row with the 1^st chain st and 1 slip st in the 2^nd chain st from the beginning of the circle row;

2^nd row: make 1 slip st in the top of the 1^st double crochet of the previous row and 1 slip st behind the next chain st = beginning of new circle row. Make 2 chain sts and 1 double crochet around chain st. * 1 chain st and 2 double crochets behind chain st of the previous row*; repeat from * to *. Finish the row with 1 chain st and 1 slip st in the 2^nd chain st from the beginning of circle row. Repeat the 2^nd circle row x twice with light-grey yarn, finish with 1 circle row with blue yarn.
