Special Stitch

Shell = [sc, ch 3, 4 dc] all into same stitch

dc2tog = double crochet 2 together - To make a dc2tog, work 1 dc in each of next 2 sts but leave last loop of each dc on hook, (3loops on hook), yo and through all 3 loops


Multiple of 4 sts + 1 (add 1 for base chain) The quantity of sts is multiple 4 + 1 + 1 chain st increase.

1st row (RS): Work 1 shell into 2nd ch from hook, *sk 3 ch, shell into next ch; rep from * to last 4 ch, sk 3 ch, sc into last ch, turn;

2nd row: Ch 2, dc in 1st st, sk 1 dc, over next 2 sts work dc2tog, ch 3, sk 1 dc, sc into ch 3 sp *sk 1 sc & 1 dc, over next 2 sts work dc2tog, ch 3, sk 1dc, sc into ch 3 sp; rep from * to end;

3rd row: Ch 1, shell into first st, *sk 3 ch and next st, shell into next sc; rep from * ending skip 3 ch and next st, sc into top of tch, turn.

Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows.
