​Knit Summer Jacket

You’ll need:

350 (400) 450 of sectional coloring (# 826) Novita Puro Batik yarn (100% wool; 100m/50g);

Knitting needles 4 and 4,5;

1 button.

Size: XS-S (M) L.

Chest circumference: 74 (82) 90 cm;

Length: 59 (62) 65 cm.

Used Patterns

1 x 1 rib;

Relief pattern: due to the scheme.

Stitches control: 14 sts of relief pattern with knitting needles 4,5 = 10 cm.

Instructions

Make as one-piece cloth.

Left Front

Cast on 31 (35) 39 sts with knitting needles 4 and work with 1 x 1 rib, start with 1 knit st and WS row. At 12 cm height, increase 12 (14) 16 sts in the next RS row in the following way: 6 sts of 1 x 1 rib, then, make 2 knit sts from every next st (= make every st at first through back, then, through front loop) = 43 (49) 55 sts. Make the next WS row with purls.

Then, change to knitting needles 4,5 and work with relief pattern in the following way: 1 st before pattern repeat, repeat 2 sts of pattern repeat x 18 (21) 24 times, make the last 6 sts with 1 x 1 rib (placket). Repeat 1^st-4^th rows of relief pattern. At 21 (22) 23 cm height, increase 6 sts in the end of RS row for arm-hole = 49 (55) 61 sts, make these sts with 1 x 1 rib. At 38 (40) 42 cm height of arm-hole, after making WS row, leave the sts.

Right Front

Make in symmetry to the left front, but make button-loop in the 1^st row of relief pattern from the right side in the following way: 4 knit sts, 1 yarn over, knit2tog, then, as sts face in RS row from inwards.

Back

Knit 49 (55) 61 sts of right front, cast on 17 sts for neck-hole and knit 49 (55) 61 sts of left front = 115 (127) 139 sts. Continue making sts due to the pattern, make the central 29 sts with 2 x 2 rib for 2 cm. Decrease 1 st in the center of the 1^st row = 114 (126) 138 sts. Then, knit all the sts with relief pattern, except edging 6 sts from both sides and continue work with 1 x 1 rib.

At 76 (80) 84 cm height of arm-hole, bind off 6 sts from both sides = 102 (114) 126 sts. Then, make all the sts with relief pattern for 9 (10) 11 cm, decrease 23 (26) 29 sts in the next RS row = 79 (88) 97 sts. Then, change to knitting needles 4 and make 12 cm of 1 x 1 rib. Bind off the sts as they face.

Assembly

Make side seams. Sew button.
