​Crochet Coat with Fancy Patterns

You’ll need:

550g of emerald Melange yarn (75% polyacryl, 25% sheep wool; 162m/50g);

100g of the same yarn, but in white color;

100g of the same yarn, but in red color;

100g of the same yarn, but in bright-pink color;

100g of the same yarn, but in black color;

Crochet hook 5.

Size: S.

Used Patterns

Fancy pattern 1: the quantity of sts is multiple 48 + 38 sts. Work with double crochets due to the scheme 1. While changing colors, make the last st with new color. Draw the non-working yarn from WS. Start with sts before arrow A, pattern repeat x once, finish with sts before arrow B. Make 1^st-23^rd rows x once.

Fancy pattern 2: the quantity of sts is multiple 16 + 10. Work with double crochets due to the scheme 2. Make 1^st-17^th rows x once.

Main pattern: 23 rows with fancy pattern 1, 25 rows of double crochets with emerald yarn, 17 rows with fancy pattern 2, divide the sts from the center.

Stitches control: 15,5 sts x 6,5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Make 86 chain sts + 1 chain st increase and make 1 row of single crochets (this row isn’t taken into account). Then, work with the main pattern. In 6 cm from the set-up row, decrease 1 st from both sides for side chamfers and 3 x 1 st in every 8^th row = 78 sts. In 79 cm from the set-up row, leave 3 sts from both sides for arm-holes and 2 x 2 sts, 3 x 1 st in every row = 58 sts. In 100 cm from the set-up row, finish your work.

Left Front

Make 44 chain sts + 1 chain st increase with emerald yarn and make 1 row of single crochets. Then, work with the main pattern, start fancy pattern 1 with sts before arrow C and finish with 18 sts. Make side chamfers and arm-hole from the right side in the same way, as for back. In 76 cm from the set-up row, leave 1 st from the left side for neck-hole chamfer and 10 x 1 st in every 2^nd row. Finish your work at the height of back.

Right Front

Work in symmetry, start every fancy pattern 1 with sts before arrow S and finish at arrow E.

Sleeves

Make 44 chain sts + 3 chain sts increase with emerald yarn and work with double crochets. In 15 cm from the set-up row, increase 1 st from both sides for sleeve chamfers, then, 4 x 1 st in every 2^nd row, 2 x 1 st in every 4^th row and 1 x 1 st in every 6^th row. In 49 cm from the set-up row, work with fancy pattern 2, divide the sts from the center. In 53,5 cm from the set-up row, leave 3 sts from both sides for sleeve caps, 1 x 2 sts and 1 x 1 st in every row, 2 x 1 st in every 2^nd row and 2 x 2 sts, 2 x 4 sts. In 70,5 cm from the set-up row, finish your work.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams, sew up the sleeves, make side and sleeve seams. Fasten all the edges with 1 row of single crochets and 1 row of “shrimp stitch”.
