​Crochet Gingerbread Man

So let’s start. 

Chain 17 (ch). These 17 chains mean length of the arms, therefore if you want bigger or smaller body just increase or decrease the number of chains. In the second loop from the hook make single crochet (sc) and in all loops till the end of the row. Now

Now you have 16 sc, make ch 1 and turn. * In the next row make again 1 sc and ch1 at the end. Repeat from *- 2 times more and cut the thread.

Crochet the body of gingerbread man:

Tie the same thread in the 5^th loop, ch 1, 7 sc, ch1, turn. (we don’t crochet all loops till the end of the row) * In the next row make 8 sc, ch1. Repeat from * - 2 more times. Don’t cut the thread and continue crochet left leg.

Crochet legs of gingerbread man:

Make 4 sc, ch 1, turn. * Skip first sc and make 2 sc into the next 2 loops, 2 sc in the last loop, ch1. Turn. ** In the next row make 4 sc, ch 1. Repeat from * to **. In the next row make 2 sc in the next 2 loops, skip next sc, and sc in the last 4^th loop.

By skipping some loops, I am rounding slightly the leg of crochet gingerbread man pattern. Cut the thread. Now tie the thread from the other side of the body and continue with the right leg using the same scheme.

Crochet head of gingerbread man:

Now, we are going to work with the upper side of the body. Tie the thread in the 7^th loop, make ch1, 3 sc, ch 1, turn. In the next row make 2 sc in the first loop, 2 sc in the next 2 loops and 2 sc in the last loop, ch1, turn. *Crochet 6 sc in the next row. Repeat from * - 2 more times. Don’t forget to make ch 1 at the end of each row. In the next row make sc in the first loop, skip the second loop, 2 sc in the third and forth loops, skip 5^th loop, and sc in the 6^th loop. Again, I would like to slightly round the head. Cut the thread.

Now change the color and crochet around the whole body with sc. In this step don’t forget to hide all your tails that you have. Glue the eyes, sew buttons and embroider mouth. You've done it!
