​White Short Jacket

You’ll need:

350g of middle weight 100% cotton yarn in white color;

30g of the same yarn in lilac and mélange lilac-pink color (each);

Knitting needles 4,5;

Crochet hook 3;

1 button.

Size: S-M.

Stitches control: 20 sts x 26 rows of stockinette stitch = 10 x 10 cm.

Back

Cast on 76 sts with white yarn and work with stockinette stitch, increase 8 x 1 st in every 2^nd row from both sides = 92 sts. At 16 cm height, bind off 3 sts from both sides, 2 x 2 sts and 2 x 1 st in every 2^nd row = 76 sts. In 17 cm from the beginning of arm-holes, bind off the central 38 sts for the neck-hole and 5 sts in the 2^nd row from both sides. At 35 cm height, bind off 14 sts for each shoulder and finish your work.

Right Front

Cast on 12 sts with white yarn and work with stockinette stitch, increase 8 x 1 st in every 2^nd row from the side seam, 5 x 2 sts in every 2^nd row and 7 x 1 st from the fastener side = 37 sts. At 16 cm height, bind off 4 sts for the arm-hole, 2 x 1 st in every 2^nd row. At the same time, decrease 15 x 1 st in every 2^nd row from the opposite side for the neck-hole chamfer. At 35 cm height, bind off 14 sts for shoulder and finish your work.

Left Front

Make in symmetry to the right front.

Sleeves

Cast on 52 sts with white yarn and knit the first and the last 18 sts of stockinette stitch and the central 16 sts due to the scheme 1. At the same time, increase 6 x 1 st in every 4^th row from both sides = 64 sts. At 16 cm height, bind off 3 sts from both sides for sleeve caps, 14 x 1 st in every 2^nd row, 2 x 2 sts and the rest 18 sts. Total height is about 30 cm.

Assembly

Make side seams and sew up the sleeves in the arm-holes. Fasten the edges of your work, including sleeves, with lace due to the scheme 2, alternating the colors of yarn in the following way: 1^st and 2^nd rows – white yarn, 3^rd row – lilac yarn, 4^th row – white yarn, 5^th row – mélange yarn; 6^th, 7^th and 8^th row – white yarn. Sew the button to the left front.
