Assembly

Step 2: Using a yarn needle and tail of yarn, attach each of the holly berries to the hat.

Weave in ends. Continue on to Adding Details.

Adding Details

Step 1: Attach the black safety eyes or sew on the black crocheted eyes using a yarn needle. I attached mine between rows 3 & 4 of the head. And placed them 1.25″ apart from center of one eye to the center of the next. The space between the eyes is approximately 7/16″. Weave in ends if you made crocheted eyes.

Step 2: Using a yarn needle and tail of yarn, attach the nose as shown in the photos below.

Step 3: Using a yarn needle and a 14″ length of black yarn, create the mouth. I started sewing my mouth from the left side, placing stitches between rows 9 & 10. I began by inserting my needle in the stitch I chose on the left and worked up and down through 7 stitches between rows 9 & 10. I then made a small diagonal stitch up to between rows 8 & 9. Lastly, I created a small “V” on the right side of the mouth. Weave in ends once you’ve completed your mouth.

Step 4: Use a yarn needle and tail of yarn to attach the hat to the snowman’s head. I lined up the right side of the hat’s brim with the center of the head. I then tilted the hat on an angle just a bit. Sew hat in place and weave in ends.

Step 5: With the scarf, create a loop as shown in the photos below. Fold the scarf over to create a second loop. Wrap the center of the scarf with a 10″ piece of red yarn and knot to secure the loops and form a bow. Use a yarn needle and tails of yarn to sew the scarf onto the lower left part of the snowman’s face as shown in the photos below.

Step 6: Use a yarn needle and tail of yarn to attach the buttons. Because of the way the towel hangs, make sure to attach the buttons on the side opposite the facial features. I attached the bottom button first. Position it so that the center of it is 3-3/4″ from the bottom edge of the towel. I then added the middle button and left a 1/2″ space between the bottom and middle buttons. Repeat with the top button leaving a 1/2″ space between the middle and top buttons. Weave in ends.
