1^st row: 5 chain sts, 1 double crochet in the 1s chain st, * skip 3 sts, 1 single crochet in the next 5 sts, skip 3 sts, (1 double crochet, 2 chain sts, 1 double crochet, 2 chain sts, 1 double crochet) in the next st*; repeat from * to *, finish with (1 double crochet, 2 chain sts, 1 double crochet) instead of the previous group, turn;

2^nd row: 3 chain sts, 4 double crochets in the 1s half of the group, * skip the 1^st single crochet, 1 single crochet in the next 3 crochets, skip the last crochet, 9 double crochets in the next group*; repeat from * to *, finish with 5 double crochets in the last half of the group;

3^rd row: 1 chain st, 1 single crochet in the first 3 double crochets, skip the rest double crochets, * (1 double crochet, 2 chain sts, 1 double crochet, 2 chain sts, 1 double crochet) = group in the middle single crochet (out of 3), 1 single crochet in 5 central double crochet (out of 9)*; repeat from * to *, finish with 3 single crochets.
