​Knit Waistcoat with Fancy Cat

You'll need:

100g of yarn with at least 50% of wool (200m/100g) of yellow color;

50g of the same yarn, but mustard color;

A littile bit of black yarn for cat;

Knitting needles 4;

Crochet hook 3.

Size: 2-3 years.

Used Patterns

Stockinette stitch: in right-side rows - knit sts, in wrong-side rows - purls;

2 x 2 rib;

Pearled pattern:

1st row: * 1 knit st, 1 purl*; repeat from * to *;

2nd, 4th rows: due to the ornament;

3rd row: shift the pattern on 1 st - purls above knit sts, knit sts above purls.

Repat from 1st to 4th rows.

Back

Cast on 70 sts with mustard color yarn. Then, make rib on 4 cm. Then, turn to the yellow yarn and stockinette stitch. At 17 cm from bottom part bind off 6 sts from both side for arm-holes and continue with straight knitting for 12 cm. Bind off the central 22 sts and finish each part separately. For rounding of neck-hole, bind off 1 st x 1 in the next 2nd row. At 15 cm from arm-holes bottom, bind off all the sts. Make the second part of back in reflection to the first one.

Front

Cast on 70 sts with mustard color yarn. Then, make rib on 4 cm. Continue with pearled pattern on 5 cm. Change to yellow yarn and then work due to the descriptions of back. At 10 cm from arm-holes bottom, bind off the central 18 sts and finish each part separately. For rounding of neck-hole bind off 2 sts x 1, 1 st x 1 in every even row along the inner side. Bind off the rest sts at the height of the previous detail. Make the second part of front in reflection to the first one.

Assembly

Lift the sts with yellow yarn along the shoulders on back and make 2 cm of rib. Lift the sts with mustard yarn along the shoulders on front and make 2 cm of rib. Make button-holes on each shoulder clower to the neck-hole: purl2tog, 1 yarn over.

Make side seams. Fasten the neck-hole and arm-holes with "shrimp stitch" with mustard yarn. Sew the "cat" fancy pattern due to the scheme with "stitch in stitch" seam.
