Marble Paper
You'll need:
100% cotton paper (it's very important, as another content won't suit);
Alum;
Cellulose ester Methocel;
Ammonia;
Sprinkler;
Dosing spoons;
Utility whisk;
Liquid soap;
Deep tray of bigger size,than your paper sheets;
Big bowl;
Acrylic paints;
Clothes line.
Instructions
First, prepare the paper. Fill the spray bottle with warm water and add two tablespoons of alum to it, mix. Let the liquid cool and then spray on one side of your sheet. Leave to dry, but do not forget to mark the sprayed side, because otherwise you can get confused which one was processed.
In a bucket, mix 4 tablespoons of metotsel with 4 liters of warm distilled water, add 1 tablespoon of ammonia, mix with a whisk. Pour the mixture into the tray and leave it to stand until all the air bubbles come out - this may take up to an hour.
Prepare a “dispersant” - mix half a cup of water and a few drops of liquid soap, mix.
Select the desired acrylic colors and squeeze out into separate containers. Add a little water to each paint to dilute them to the consistency of liquid sour cream. In each, also add a drop of dispersant or just liquid soap.
We start the fun part - add paint to the tray. Using any convenient tool - "straws" or a brush - drop a drop of paint in various places. Continue until almost the entire surface is in the paint.
Now let's make it more “marbled”: take a clean tube and begin to draw it along the surface of the water, creating patterns. You can also use the dispersant previously prepared - just a tiny drop is enough for the colors to begin to move, so be careful.
As soon as you are satisfied with the pattern, take the prepared paper and carefully lay the treated side on the surface of the water. Tap it lightly to remove small air bubbles, and then, holding one corner, lift the sheet.
Rinse the sheet with water - do not be afraid to grease the paint, it will hold firmly.
Hang to dry.
