How to Crochet Using Sc3tog Technique

Row 1 Instructions
Row 1: Chain a multiple of 2 (for example, I chained 28 in my sample). Single crochet (sc) in the 2nd chain from the hook. Perform a single crochet three together (sc3tog), starting in the same chain as the previous stitch and then continuing in the next two chains. Chain 1. *Work sc3tog starting in the same chain as the last leg of the previous sc3tog, and then continuing in the next two chains. Chain 1. Repeat from * across the row. Finish with a single crochet in the same chain as the last leg of the previous sc3tog. Turn.
Row 2 Instructions
Row 2: Chain 1, and single crochet in the same stitch as the chain 1. Work sc3tog starting in the same stitch as the previous single crochet and then continuing into the top of the next sc3tog and the chain 1 space. Chain 1. *Continue with sc3tog starting in the same stitch as the last leg of the previous sc3tog, then continuing into the top of the next sc3tog and the chain 1 space. Chain 1. Repeat from * across the row. Finish with a single crochet in the same stitch as the last leg of the previous sc3tog.
Repeating Rows
Repeat Row 2 until the piece is of the desired size.
Understanding Sc3tog
* Sc3tog: To perform this stitch, insert the hook into the stitch indicated, yarn over (yo), and pull up a loop. Repeat this for 2 more times in the next 2 stitches or chains. Then, yarn over again and pull through all 4 loops on the hook.
