​Crochet Easter Chick

You'll need:

YarnArt Jeans of yellow color (55% cotton, 45% acryl; 160m/50g);

A little bit of red and orange yarn;

Crochet hooks 2 mm, for thinner yarn 1,75 mm;

Black beads 5 mm.

Instructions

Make body and head (as one whole piece).

1st row: 6 single crochets in amigurumi ring;

2nd row: 2 single crochets in one st (12);

3rd row: (1 single crochet, 2 single crochets in one st) 6 times (18);

4th row: (2 single crochets, 2 single crochets in one st) 6 times (24);

5th row: (3 single crochets, 2 single crochets in one st) 6 times (30);

6th-9th row: 30 single crochets;

10th row: (3 single crochets, knit2tog) 6 times (24);

11th row: (2 single crochets, knit2tog) 6 times (18);

12th row: (1 single crochet, knit2tog) 6 times (12);

13th row: 12 single crochets;

14th row: (2 single crochets in one st) 12 times (24);

15th row: (1 single crochet, 2 single crochets in one st) 12 times (36);

16th-19th row: 36 single crochets. Fill in with the stuffing.

20th row: (4 single crochets, knit2tog) 6 times (30);

21st row: (3 single crochets, knit2tog) 6 times (24);

22nd row: (2 single crochets, knit2tog) 6 times (18);

23rd row: 18 single crochets;

24th row: (1 single crochet, knit2tog) 6 times (12). Fill in with the stuffing.

25th row: (knit2tog) 6 times (6).

Collect all the sts with the needle and tighten, fasten and cut the yarn.

Make Wings (2 pcs)

Make 9 chain sts. Starting from the 2nd st from the crochet hook, make 2 single crochets, 3 half double crochets, 3 double crochets, 1 double crochet for turning and then crochet the opposite side in reflection - 3 double crochets, 3 half double crochets, 2 single crochets, slip st.

Cut the yarn, leave the end for sewing.

Make Legs (2 pcs)

Make 15 chain sts. Starting from the 2nd st from the crochet hook, make 4 slip sts, 5 chain sts, crochet 4 slip sts from the 2nd st, 5 chain sts, crochet 4 slip sts from the 2nd st. Make 10 slip sts going up the chain. Cut the yarn, leave the end for sewing.

Sew wings and legs to the body.

Make Crest

Place marker to the starting place.

Make chain sts with red yarn, which will be attached by means of single crochets.

5 chain sts, 1 single crochet, 3 chain sts, 1 single crochet, 5 chain sts, 1 single crochet.

Fasten and cut the yarn.

Make Beak

1st row: 5 single crochets in amigurumi ring;

2nd row: 5 single crochets.

Cut the yarn, leave end for sewing.

Sew two black beads as eyes and beak.
