You'll need:

1/2 skein of KARTOPU BABY COTTON yarn (50% cotton, 50% acryl, 260m/100g);

Double pointed knitting needles 3;

Frame needle.

Instructions

Cast on the needed quantity of sts, depending on the foot length (multipled 4). For the foot 10 cm (3-6 months) cast on 40 sts.

Then, place 10 sts on each knitting needled.

Let's turn to knitting the rib. Make 1 purl, 1 knit st around - 20 rows.

After you've finished the rib, it's necessary to transfer 2 sts from second needle to first from the beginning of row, you should get 12 sts on this knitting needle. This will be the front part of your bootie with braid.

1st row: 2 purls, 8 knit sts, 2 purls;

2nd row: due to the ornament;

3rd-6th rows: odd rows are knitted due to the scheme, even rows - due to the ornament;

7th row: 2 purls, transfer 4 knit sts on the auxilary needle and leave behind work, 4 knit sts, knit 4 sts from the auxilary needle as knit sts, 2 purls. Make 19 rows this way.

Divide the base sts in the following way: leave 12 sts for sole, there are 8 sts on side needles each. Then, it's necessary to catch up the edging sts of the front part, where the braid is located with side needles. You should get 12 sts front and 12 sts back, 17 sts for each side (length of the booties).

Knit around 6 rows with knit sts.

Then, you should form so called "pintuck" in order to your booties keep their shape. For this, make 3 rows with purls, then 3 rows with knit sts.

Each wrong side sts correspond to knit st. For making "pintuck", insert the needle in edging wrong side st, throw it on the working needle close to knit st and knit them together. Repeat to end of row.

Knitting Sole.

You should start knitting from toe cap of your bootie, to make this, turn your work and make purls. Transfer the last st on the nonworking side needle and knit them together.

Thenm turn your work to rights side and make the same for the wrong side. Knit the rest sts the same way.

In order to bind off the sts, take frame needle, measure the length of thread twice longer, than the width of your booties and sew the bootie with kitchener stitch (st in st).

For this, insert the frame needle in the 1st st of lower and upper rows from bottom to up, then again in the 1st lower st from bottom to up; pull from botton to up from the 2nd st of the lower row, slip the st from the knitting needle.Then, insert the frame needle from up to bottom in the edging st in the upper row and pull ot from bottom to up from the 2nd st of the upper row. Insert frame needle from up to bottom in the 2nd st of the lower row and from bottom to up in the 3rd st. Bind off the rest sts in analogy to this.
