Solid Blocks (Make 6)
With Color B, ch 14
Row 1:
sc in 2nd ch from hook and each remaining ch, ch 1, turn. (13 sc)
Row 2:
sc in each st across, ch 1, turn.
Rows 3 – 13:
rep Row 2.
FO, weave in ends.
Connecting the Blocks
Before connecting the blocks, lay out the pieces to ensure that the dice are in the proper place. Place the blocks so that Row 13 of each block is at the top of the bag and Row 1 is at the bottom.
The blocks are connected both horizontally and vertically, and there are 2 panels.
Step 1:
First, to connect the blocks vertically, hold dice 1 block and a black block together with the Bobbles facing the outside. With Color A (or your yarn of choice), join them at the top corner, ch 1, sc in each row end being sure to work into both blocks. (Do not finish off, continue to sc dice 2 block and another black block. FO and weave in ends. (Repeat this process, connecting block 3 & a black block.)
Step 2:
Now, connect the blocks horizontally. With backs together, join Color A at the bottom corner of dice 3 block and top of black block. Ch 1, sc the blocks together by working a sc into each st of each block across. Continue to sc across the top of dice 2 block and bottom of black block and then bottom of dice 1 block and top of black block. FO and weave in ends.
Repeat Steps 1 & 2 for the next panel. (Dice 4, 5 & 6)
Step 3:
Connect the 2 panels. With the right side of each panel facing each other, join Color A yarn at the top corner. Sc down the side into each row end being sure to work into both blocks, work 2 sc in corner, sc in each st across the bottom, work 2 sc in corner, continue to sc in each row end up the other side. FO, weave in ends and turn right side out so that the right sides are now facing out.
Top Edging
Rnd 1:
With the front of the bag facing you, join Color B yarn to the top right side of dice 3 block, sc in each st around the top edge of the bag, slst to join to 1st sc, ch 1. (80)
Rnd 2:
sc in each st around, slst to join, ch 1.
Rnds 3 – 11:
rep Rnd 2.
Rnd 12:
*sc in next 4, ch 1, sk 1; rep from * around, slst to join to 1st sc, ch 1. (64 sc, 16 ch sp)
Rnd 13:
sc in each st and ch sp around, slst to join to 1st sc. (80 sc)
FO and weave in ends.
Strap
With Color B yarn (or color of choice), make a Romanian cord about 18″ long. Finish off leaving a long tail, about 18″ long. Weave the cord in and out of the ch spaces on Rnd 12. Next, thread yarn needle with the long tail then whip stitch the ends of the cord together.
