Materials You’ll Need
Yarn: I used DROPS ALASKA, 100% wool, in color 45, but you can use any yarn with similar characteristics.
Hook Sizes: 3 and 5 mm.
Other Essentials: This includes a 2.5 cm button, yarn needle, scissors, measuring tape, and stitch markers.
Gauge
Gauge: Aim for 7 spider sts and 14 rows to create a 10 cm square, ensuring your skirt fits just right.
Spider Stitch
This engaging intermediate-level stitch offers a unique texture, adding charm and intricacy to the skirt.
Chain an even number of chains
Row 1: Single crochet in the second chain from the hook, chain 1, single crochet in the same chain as the first single crochet, skip the next chain then single crochet, chain 1, single crochet in the next chain. Repeat to the end of the row putting the last single crochet, chain 1, single crochet, in the last chain.
Row 2: do not chain 1, single crochet, chain 1, single crochet in the first chain 1 space, continue placing a single crochet, chain 1, single crochet in each chain 1 space.
Repeat step row until the fabric reaches the desired length.
Pattern Notes
Begin by crocheting the waistband using half double crochet stitches. Next, proceed to the main body of the skirt, working in spider stitches for a textured effect. Finish the lower edge with another band of half double crochets for a neat border. Lastly, crochet a separate pocket and attach it to the front of the skirt. The design is completed with buttons along the back side of the skirt for added detail and functionality.
