Special Stitches

Herringbone Half Double Crochet Stitch (hhdc)
Yarn over hook, insert hook into next stitch, yarn over and pull up 1 loop and pull that same loop through the first loop on your hook. Yarn over and pull through the remaining 2 loops on your hook.

Notes:
  • Any number of chains, plus 2 chains
  • Reversible
  • The turning ch 2 does not count as a stitch and we do not work into it. The first stitch of every row will have a ch 2 and 1 hhdc stitch in it.
  • When I work into the foundation chain, I prefer working into the back bar (back bump) of the chain. You can work under the back loop only if you prefer.
  • To make this washcloth longer, work more rows.
  • To make this washcloth wider, chain more stitches using the stitch multiple.
