- Hdc – half double crochet
- Dc – double crochet
- Tr – treble crochet (triple crochet)
- Slst – slip st
- St/s – Stitch/es
Body:
Measure around the upper part of your bust where the top will sit. Divide the number by 4 and multiply by 18. If you have an even number, use this number. If you have an odd number, round up to the next even number.
Ch (number calculated) +1
R1: sc into 2nd ch from the hook counts as one sc, dc. *sc, dc. Continue from * until end of the row.
R2: ch 1, dc into next st. *sc, dc. Continue from * until end of the row.
Repeat R2 until your desired length (ending in an even row number).
For this stitch pattern, you alternate between sc and dc stitches. The pattern is done across two rows, making sure that the top row is opposite of the row below, for example, a sc on top of a dc and a dc on top of a sc.
Faten off with a long tail. This will be used to seam the band closed.
Sleeves Make 2
Measure the length of your sleeves from where you want the sleeves to be placed on the garment to the back of the garment.
Note, sometimes straps will stretch more due to the weight of the garment while it is worn. You may want to size down and make your chain with a tighter tension.
